ASA’s Camp FROG Family Weekends, held at Camp ASCCA and located on beautiful Lake Martin, offer families the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities in a supportive and adaptive environment, as well as, fellowship with other families from across the state. Fall Camp FROG is open for ages 6 – 13 years of age. Spring Camp Frog hosts ages 14 and up. Please contact chenique@autism-alabama.org for additional information. PROGRAMS
The Maker’s Child
The Maker’s Child Respite program serves special needs children and adults on the second Friday night of every month from 6 – 8:30 pm. This is an opportunity for families to leave their special needs child and siblings with us for a night of games, music, lessons, sensory play and activities while parents or caregivers enjoy a respite.
Sensory-Friendly Performances at Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre & Academy
Sensory Friendly Performances make space for audiences with special access needs. Visual and sound effects are lowered, fidget toys and other sensory assistance tools will be distributed, and house lights will stay dimly lit to accommodate first time patrons with sensory disabilities. This new sensory friendly season is part of Fantasy Playhouse’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, one of the first initiatives of its kind to take place in Alabama. Tickets are on sale to the general public to these special performances.

AMC Valley Bend 18 offers a Sensory Friendly Film Program for any family with children who find it difficult to sit quietly in the dark through an entire film. Family-friendly films are shown on the second and fourth Saturday of every month.
