May 25 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

$2 – $5

Lake Guntersville State Park was once called home by many different families that farmed and cherished this land. What remains of this history are old homestead frames and a cemetery now.
Join the Park Naturalist as we hike up to the cemetery and learn all about the land and families that lived here before it became a state park in the 1940’s. With some marked and unmarked graves, this is a chance to look back at history and what the park looked like prior to the TVA lake!
This is a 2-mile loop hike that is considered moderate. There is an area of steep terrain, so good footwear is necessary! Dogs are welcome, must be on a leash.
